Sannib
Contemporary Mixed-Media Artist
Sannib (Hazem Sannib) was born on 16 September 1976 in Kuwait and is a British contemporary artist of Syrian-Lebanese descent, now based in London. His journey into art began at the age of ten without formal instruction — an instinctive connection to mark-making that has never left him. He later studied painting with Syrian artist Farid Georges and abstract techniques under Mard Issa, before graduating in Graphic Design from the Syrian Design Center in Aleppo in 1997.
Sannib spent 18 years working in advertising and creative agencies across Kuwait, the UAE and London, all the while developing a unique visual language that blends graphic design sensibility with expressive painting. Working in oil and acrylic, he layers graphic elements with painterly gestures to create striking mixed-media works that range from contemporary portraiture to fully abstract compositions. He is the creator of Dreamalism — a movement he founded to describe his particular fusion of painterly and graphic approaches.
Sannib has participated in exhibitions across Kuwait, Syria and England since his debut show in Kuwait in 1994 and continues to build a global collector base through galleries across the United Kingdom.
